Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental Post Graduate Entrance Test (BVP DENPET)

The University will conduct combined Entrance Test (DENPET-2017) for admission to Dental College & Hospital, Pune, Dental College & Hospital, Navi Mumbai and Dental College and Hospital, Sangli for MDS Course of three years duration. The Government of India in concurrence with the Dental Council of India has permitted Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Dental Colleges to conduct the post graduate courses in the following subjects.

Out of the seats sanctioned by the Dental Council of India, for the PG programmes to these Colleges, fifty percent of seats are reserved as Managements Merit Seats. The candidates seeking admissions to these courses for the seats of this category need to purchase the DENPET 2017 Brochure of the University and will also have to apply separately on a prescribed application form. Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be an Indian National.
  • Foreign / NRI / OCI / PIO candidates seeking admission to the PG programmes will have to obtain registration from the Dental Council of India. Any candidate who has obtained BDS Degree from any recognised Dental College in India Under Foreign / NRI / OCI / PIO Category will not be considered under regular category for Post Graduate Course even if he possesses recognised BDS degree from an Indian University.
  • The Candidate must have passed B.D.S. examination from a Dental College recognized by Dental Council of India.
  • The candidate must have completed one year compulsory rotating internship on or before 31-03-2017. He / She will have to produce a certificate of completion of internship before joining the course.
  • The candidate should posses a permanent registration with any State Dental Council or Dental Council of India. If the registration certificate is not submitted within one month after admission to the postgraduate course, admission to course will be cancelled.
  • If a candidate does not fulfill any or all the above requirements or fails to pay the fees at the time of counselling, he/she will not be considered eligible for admission irrespective of his appearing for DENPET 2017 examination and securing a rank in the merit list.
  • Foreign / NRI / PIO/OCI candidates seeking admission for the Post Graduate Programme in the institution must procure temporary registration by Dental Council of India for the duration of the Postgraduate training restricted to the Dental College to which he/she is admitted.
  • Candidates who have passed Post Graduate Diploma course recognised by the DCI, of the duration of 2 years in particular speciality will be eligible for admission in MDS in the same speciality and the duration of his/her MDS course will be 2 years.

How to Apply

A candidate desirous of applying for DENPET-2017, is required to complete the prescribed form. The same must reach Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Bharati Vidyapeeth Bhavan, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Pune 411 030 on or before the date of submission mentioned in the calender of events. (Cover 3) All candidates are required to enclose attested photocopies of the following documents duly attested by Principal/Gazetted Officer along with the form. (Keep the original)

  1. Statement of marks of I, II, III and final B.D.S. examinations
  2. Certificate of completion of internship
  3. Certificate indicating the number of attempts at final B.D.S. examination from the Head of the Institution
  4. If the candidate is employed, he should submit 'No Objection Certificate' from the employer
  5. Declaration stating that he is not undergoing any postgraduate course at other institution
  6. Medical fitness certificate
  7. Statement of marks of 10+2 or equivalent examination
  8. Certificate of registration with State Dental Council/Dental Council of India.

  12. Certificate from the Dean / Principal of the dental college of the candidate stating, that college is recognised by the Dental Council of India.

Exam Pattern

The question paper of DENPET-2017 will contain 200 multiple choice questions of one correct or most appropriate choice type, out of 4 choices. The questions will be on the syllabi prescribed for the I,II,III and final B.D.S. examinations, with more weightage given to clinical subjects. Each correct answer will get 3 marks, There is no negative marking. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

Mode Of The Test

- The examination will be of 3 hours duration and will consist of one question paper of 600 marks consisting of 200 questions.

- The test is of objective type. The candidate will be provided with a sealed Test Booklet and an Answer Sheet. The candidate will write with ball point pen the required information regarding: Name and Roll Number on the Test Booklet and on the Answer Sheet.

- In the Test Booklet, there will be 200 questions serially numbered from 001 to 200. Each question will be followed by four responses marked (A), (B), (C) and (D). Of these four responses only one will be the correct or the most appropriate response. Each correct answer will get 3 marks. There is no negative marking. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions

Important Instructions For Marking
- Use Pencil Or Blue Or Black Ball Point Pen Only To Darken The Appropriate Box.
- Mark Should Be Dark And Should Completely Fill The Box.
- Darken Only One Box For Each Entry.
- Make The Marks Only In The Space Provided.

Syllabus

The questions will be on the syllabi prescribed for the I,II,III and final B.D.S. examinations, with more weightage given to clinical subjects. Each correct answer will get 3 marks, There is no negative marking. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.

The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.

Cutoff

The cut off score depends on difficulty level of exam, availability of seats, number of applicants, etc. Based on the cut-off score examination authority prepares the merit list and candidates are called for counselling.

Results

The candidates are required to enter their respective BVP DENPET 2017 Roll Number for checking their result and downloading of their scorecard. The result will furnish the rank secured by the candidates. Based on the result of BVP DENPET and the cutoff screening, eligible candidates would be selected for the next round of selection process. The selected candidates would be enlisted in a merit list and will be called for counselling cum allotment on the basis of appearance in the list.

The University will prepare combined merit list of the candidates applying for the seats in Dental College & Hospital, Pune, Dental College & Hospital, Navi Mumbai and Dental College and Hospital, Sangli. Separate merit lists for Regular Merit & Management Merit Category shall be displayed at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Dental College & Hospital, Pune-Satara Road, Pune - 411 043 and at offices of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University at Pune, Navi Mumbai & New Delhi and also will be available on website at www.bvuniversity.edu.in. Reasonable number of candidates in accordance with the merit will be informed and called for counselling.

Counselling

Candidates who are qualified in Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental Post Graduate Entrance Test will be called for the counselling process of BVP DENPET 2017.

- The counselling and on-the-spot admission session will be held at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Dental College & Hospital, Pune-Satara Road, Pune-411 043 on the date and time communicated to the candidates as per the merit list.

- Only the candidate and one parent/guardian will be allowed into the hall where counselling is held. The candidates will be called in the order of their merit and offered the seats available at that point in time. The candidate will be permitted to choose any of the seats available when his/her turn comes.

- When all the seats in a given course are filled, admission of students to that course will instantaneously cease and Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University will not be responsible for non-availability of the seats and non-allotment to the rest of the candidates.

- At the time of reporting for the counselling, the candidate is required to produce all the documents (original and two sets of photocopies)

- Physical presence of the candidate at the counselling is mandatory. The choice of course made by the candidate is final and binding and will not be altered later under any circumstances.
