Located in In the year 1984, a visionary foresaw the great oak within the tiny acorn which he planted and nurtured with care and dedication. His Grace Dr. Stephanos Mar Theodosius, Founder-Manager of St. Thomas College, Bhilai (affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur) is no more with us but he lives on through the institution which has progressed by leaps and bounds and has carved for itself a niche in the education map of India., The vision and mission of His Grace have acted as beacons guiding the College in the right direction. He reckoned that education should give equal weightage to both knowledge & skills along with instilling a set of moral values in the young minds., The College has evolved under the astute leadership,resourcefulness and sagacity of four former Principals namely, Late Rev. Fr. John V. John, Late Prof T. O. Zacharia, Prof. K. M. Kuriakose and Dr. Reny George. In course of their tenure, they upheld the rich heritage whose stewardship has been handed over to Dr. M.G. Roymon., Over the years, the College has garnered accolades in curricular & extracurricular domains. It has been reaccredited at B++ level by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the U.G.C. Every year the students bring laurels for their alma mater with their remarkable performance & also secure top positions in the merit list., The College places equal emphasis on literary, cultural and sports activities. The pupils have risen to the challenge of present day competition & have proved their mettle at district, state and national levels., The College has acted as a springboard for launching promising careers for its outgoing students. Its Placement Cell has been instrumental in achieving academic- industrial rapport & caters to the requirements of students based on their career aspirations & options., Today, we look back at our past with satisfaction and pride and also look forward to the future with a single minded determination to redouble our efforts and continue to serve the society by providing quality education., St. Thomas, one of the Apostles of JESUS CHRIST came to India in 52 A.D. His mission was to uplift the poor and the downtrodden. He preached the gospel of Fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man. He taught the masses that all human beings are brethren. The impetus he gave to the cause of education for universal love has perhaps been the greatest contribution of St. Thomas. The great missionary zeal of this man of God has produced the ST. THOMAS MISSION, BHILAI., VISION, The St. Thomas College, Bhilai is a centre of academic excellence by providing quality education and inculcating and nurturing socio-cultural and moral values in the students.
