Located in Government Ayurveda College Raipur was established as a Ayurveda school in 1948. First Ayurveda school was opened due to precious donation of land by late Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi of Chhasttisgarh region, later in 1955 it was undertaken by government to run graduate courses and develop as a college. The golden contribution of late Shri Khudadad Dungaji made it possible to establish Ayurvedic Hospital in the premises of college., In preliminery years arrangment was made to run 3 years L.A.P. diploma course, which was running under the direction of Board of Ayurvedic and Unani System of medicine Mahakoshal, Jabalpur. Since 1950 to 1955 it was affiliated to Hari singh Gour University, Sagar. In this duration total 249 L.A.P. diploma holder students have become successful., For functional knowledge of medicine during 1952-53 a out door department with 15 bed indoor department was opened on the name of late shri Khudadad Dungaji for public service., An institution opened as school, today spread over in 90.30 acres of land, Residential area is spread over in one lac twenty eight thousand eight hundred fifty square feet of land and remaining one lac seventy seven thousand five hundred forty two square feet of area is non residential., Govt. Ayurved College Raipur, started as Ayurvedic School by the former Chief Minister Pt. Ravishankar Ji Shukla. At that time “Robrtasan Medical School” was established in Nagpur of Central India. This Ayurvedic school was started, on viewing of “Robrtasan Medical School”. The students of this Ayurvedic School were being awarded as a Licenciates Ayurved Practitioner (L.A.P.) certificate from Sagar University in undivided Madhya Pradesh., VISION, To build a centre of global excellence in quality Ayurveda education by preserving, propagating and developing evidence based knowledge of the disease through quality teaching, medical care, training, research and link between tradition, science and technology to focus on the potential inherent for future., MISSION, Trapping the hidden potentials of the young generation minds by establishment of the facts of the disease through evidence.
