Bachelor of Science (BSc Bio-Technology)

The Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology (B.Sc in Biotechnology), is a three years Undergraduate academic study program in India. The biotechnology study is designed to provide skills for jobs in many field, including medical and veterinary science, food technology, forensic science, agriculture and waste management. The bachelor study develops the understanding of how the molecules of life actually work in increasing every day and open up an exciting new world of possibilities in biotechnology. The course provides in-depth and basic knowledge based on biological science, chemical science, physical science or engineering. Biotechnology is a rapidly developing branch of biology and is highly interdisciplinary. It involves the exploitation of biological processes at molecular, cellular and organism level. Modern biotechnology emerged with advancements in recombinant DNA technology & modifications of genes with genetic engineering methodologies and progressed to cell & organism level with advancements in animal cell culture technique. The Biotechnology Course is suitable for those candidates willing for increasingly inter and multidisciplinary science studies for promoting scientific discovery.The study improves the knowledge, mental ability and an aptitude to think logically techniques.The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of Principles and Techniques in an academic disciplines such as Biology of Cells and Organisms, Genetics and the Evolution of Life, Principles of Genetics, Genes, and Genomes, Biotechnology in Practice, Human, and Medical Genetics.

Eligibility

The candidate has to pass Higher Secondary (10+2) Education with Science Stream with additional subjects like (Biology, English) or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Bachelor Degree professional study program.

Course Duration

This course requires study requires 3 to 4 years of the time period with an internship in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning study option to earn this degree.

Further Study

After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do Master’s of Science in Biotechnology (M.Sc in Biotechnology), M.Phil (Biotechnology), and specialization research-oriented course in their respective field.
