Master of Arts (MA History)

The Master of Arts in History (M.A in History), is a two years Postgraduate academic study program in India. The study is designed to cover major historical events that took place in India's as well as across the world. The master’s study develops research skills and methods, writing presentation skills and paleography to meet their specific research training needs for developing academic linked between historiographical modules to provide the intellectual, conceptual and historiographical farm work for their research. The master’s study provide creative skills like, writing, primary and secondary source analysis and research strategies, critical reasoning and analytical skill, including the capacity for solving problems and thinking, creatively and also the ability to discuss ideas in groups, accommodating different ideas and researching agreement, the capacity to think objectively and approach problem and new situations with an open mind. The study improves the knowledge, mental ability and an aptitude to think logically techniques.The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of Principles and Techniques in academic discipline such as, Indian History, Women in Indian History, State, Society and Culture of India, Policy in Medieval India, History of the Marathas, Human Civilization, History of Freedom Struggle.

Eligibility

The candidate who have completed Bachelor Degree like Bachelor of Arts (BA), with an additional subject such as History, Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), or an Equivalent Examination, from any stream with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in master's study program.

Course Duration

This course requires 2 years of the time period in India. It’s a full-time degree course, but some candidates use part-time correspondence and distance learning the educational program and one can also go for online study option to earn master's degree in our country.

Further Study

After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do M.Phil (History), Ph.D. (Doctorate in History) and specialization research-oriented course in their respective field.
