CSIR UGC NET Cutoff 2026: Subject & Category-Wise Qualifying Marks
The CSIR UGC NET Cutoff marks are declared by CSIR-HRDG along with the final merit list. Cutoffs represent the minimum percentage of marks required to qualify for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professorship, or Ph.D. admission in each of the five science streams.
Factors Determining Cutoff Percentages
- Total number of candidates appearing for each science discipline.
- Difficulty level of the question paper across Part A, B, and C.
- Total number of fellowship slots available for CSIR and UGC JRF.
- Reservation norms and category distribution (UR, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD).
- Overall performance and score distribution in multi-shift normalized subjects.
Minimum Qualifying Benchmark Marks
In addition to clearing the competitive cutoff, candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying benchmark:
- General (UR), EWS & OBC Categories: Minimum 33% aggregate marks.
- SC, ST & PwD Categories: Minimum 25% aggregate marks.
- Note: There are no sectional cutoff marks for Part A, Part B, or Part C individually. Merit is computed based on cumulative marks.
