IPMAT Syllabus
The official IIM Indore 2026 admission procedure identifies the test sections, but does not prescribe a detailed chapter-wise syllabus or topic weightage. Its three sections are Quantitative Ability (MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer) and Verbal Ability (MCQ). Treat the topic list below as a preparation guide, not an official exhaustive syllabus.
| Section | Preparation areas |
|---|---|
| Quantitative Ability (MCQ) | Arithmetic, algebra, number properties, geometry and mensuration, ratios, percentages, averages, sequences, probability and data interpretation. |
| Quantitative Ability (Short Answer) | Core arithmetic and algebraic problem solving, numerical reasoning and multi-step calculations where a candidate enters a short response. |
| Verbal Ability (MCQ) | Reading comprehension, vocabulary in context, grammar, sentence structure, para-jumbles and verbal reasoning. |
Use official IPM AT instructions and sample materials when available, and practise both timed MCQs and written numerical responses. The 2026 paper allocated 40 minutes to each section; a later cycle may change the structure.
