Haryana School of Business made its modest beginning in 1994 as a Department of Business Management with sixty seats being a part of the regional centre to promote study and research in emerging areas of management education and to achieve excellence in professional education. The regional centre grew into a full-fledged University-Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar on 1st November 1995.

The department has not only kept the pace but has become a first in many things. It was the pioneer in starting the super specialized programme like MBA (Finance), MBA (Marketing), MBA (International Business) apart from the popular MBA with dual specialization with specific purpose to provide quality education in management and to make more meaningful contribution to the larger interest of the society with a clear focus on the present day needs of the market and aspiration of the individuals. To further its vision of reaching all aspiring managers and to strengthen the managerial and technical skills of workforce of Haryana specifically the Department started MBA evening programme for working executives in the academic year 1997-98. The uniqueness of the University in general and of the Department of Business management in particular had been keeping pace with changing time and requirement of society.

The Department which began as a small seedling grew into a full grown tree in a very short span of time, and is attracting the attention of aspirers of quality management education in this part of the country. The academic programmes are not only benchmarked against international norms and standards but are also periodically rationalized according to the requirement of the industry. The good response shown by the corporate sector for in placing the department's students adds another feather to the cap. Innovative curricula, missionary zeal of the faculty, healthy teaching and research environment, student's efficient acquisition and management make the department the most sought after B-school of Haryana.

The department has been by and large the main choice of admission seekers in Haryana in recent time. Faculty of the department is engaged in the research activities and has attained national and international exposure by publication and participation in national & international seminars & conferences. In its journey of around thirteen years the department has many achievements to boost of. The achievement mainly in form of the conferences it conducted, national and international conferences its faculty members attended and presented papers therein, placement the students have had and teaching methodology that made this department the unique one.
