Accordingly, the Himachal Pradesh Technical University (Established and Regulation ) Act, 2010 (Act No. 16 of 2010 of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly which was assented by the Hon’ble Governor on 28th July, 2010. Subsequently, the Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased to appoint the 21st August, 2010 as the date on which the said Act shall come into force. The first Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Technical University has taken over the charge on 7th January, 2011.
