About Lakshmipat Singhania Foundation for Higher Learning JK Organisation was born under the leadership of Lala Kamlapat ji and his father Lala Juggilal ji, hence the name ‘JK’. The first cotton mill in Northern India, JK Cotton Spinning Mill was set up in 1921 – followed by JK Jute Mills, JK Iron & Steel, JK Oil Mills, JK Cotton Manufacturers and JK Hosiery, to name a few. Keeping alive the spirit of entrepreneurship, the three sons of Lala Kamlapat Singhania: Sir Padampat Singhania, Lala Kailashpat Singhania and Lala Lakshmipat Singhania established a number of companies across India and further consolidated the existing businesses. The year 1938 saw the inception of a mill in Bhopal, converting wheat straw into strawboards, which later became the foundation for JK Paper under the leadership of Lala Lakshmipat Singhania to produce top quality paper and boards. A visionary, a pioneer, an entrepreneur, a humanitarian and a leader of outstanding quality – Lala Lakshmipat Singhania was a pillar of growth of JK Organisation. He considered learning and management skills essential for Indian Industry and economy, to grow and develop not only domestically but also globally. The Singhanias of today and the generation next under the visionary leadership of Shri Hari Shankar Singhania, President, JK Organization, have shown continuous and exemplary growth in diversified fields of industry. The group has achieved a lead position in major businesses over the years: JK Tyre, JK Paper, JK Lakshmi Cement, Fenner India, JK Agri Genetics, JK Sugar and other such successful enterprises. JK Organisation believes in taking the nation forward by improving the quality of life of its citizens by continuously working in the sphere of education, health and environment. The Lakshmipat Singhania Foundation for Higher Learning has been established to promote education and research in various disciplines by establishing academic Institutions for the benefit of all sections of the society, but not with the motive of profit. About JK Lakshmipat University Set up in a sprawling 30 acre campus, JK Lakshmipat University offers students an open, green and high-tech learning environment, combining the serene settings of the Gurukuls of yesteryears with the technological advancements of the new age. JKLU is being set up under Rajasthan Private Universities Act by "Lakshmipat Singhania Foundation for Higher Learning" an SPV set up by the well-established Lakshmipat Singhania Education Foundation. JKLU is bringing an eminent faculty and visiting faculty of Professors/Associate Professors / Assistant Professors from the country and abroad on board.
