The College of Dairy Technology is a constituent institute of Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur with an initial intake capacity of 32 students from all over the Maharashtra and 3 seats over and above the intake capacity are reserved for Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) candidates for B.Tech (Dairy Technology). Within short period of time the college has developed optimum facilities.

The college library & information cell having around 1832 Books, 12 Journals and 12 News papers to fulfill the academic and information needs of the students and staff. Computer cell at college providing internet facility to students and staff so, as to improve their soft skills. There are four class rooms with facility of LCD projector and interactive white board.

This institute is performing very well, and I would like to acknowledge, and comment on, the leadership and management efforts and skills of the faculties that lie behind this. Teaching commitments are being handled with enthusiasm and skill and also we have engaged with Research and extension. I firmly believe that Technological, leadership and management skills are always spread throughout an organisation. An organisation works best if everyone is able and willing to ‘manage’ and improve activities, and people across our whole faculty are helping to manage the improvements that are being made. Our mission is to create an academic and techno commercial environment.

The College of Dairy Technology at Warud (Pusad), Dist. Yavatmal under the jurisdiction of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, with an initial intake capacity of 32 students was established with the sanction of Govt. of Maharashtra in 1992. In December, 2000, Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University was established at Nagpur and the college was transferred from Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola to MAFSU, Nagpur as a constituent college under the Faculty of Dairy Technology.
