IIT Kharagpur is planning to offer Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) courses. IIT Kharagpur will be the first IIT to venture into medical education. The Institute has allocated 3 acres land for the 400-bedded super-speciality hospital named as Dr B C Roy Institute of Medical Science & Research. This institute will be ready by the end of 2017.
