Department of Physical Education

Physical Education is an inter-disciplinary subject involving study of Education, Human Physiology, Anatomy and Social Sciences. It is the foundation for life long fitness and high performance in competitive sports. The Department has designed a relevant curriculum that includes both theoretical and practical components. The Physical Education teachers graduating from the Department will be fully equipped to be employed as Physical Directors in schools, colleges and Universities and also as Sports Managers and Sports Officers in public and private sector/institutions.

Courses Offered :

=> Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed)
=> Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed)
=> M.Phil in Physical Education
=> Ph.D. in Physical Education

Eligibility For Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed):

=> Any Degree with proficiency in Games & Sports with minimum participation at Inter-Collegiate level.

Eligibility For Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed):

=> Any Degree with B.P.Ed., or B.P.E., Degree

Eligibility For M.Phil in Physical Education:

=> M.PEd or its Equivalent Degree approved by the Syndicate of TNPESU

Eligibility For Ph.D. in Physical Education:

=> M.P.Ed or its Equivalent Degree approved by the Syndicate of TNPESU or MPhil in Physical Education
