The Department of Mathematics was started in the year 1993 to inculcate the knowledge of Mathematics and its Applications in Engineering and Technology. The department is gifted with a dedicated team of experienced faculty members

The department is proud in producing consistently very good results in the University examinations. It trained the students to get high scores in GRE, G MAT, CAT, GATE, and IEEE to pursue their higher studies and enable them employable in the present Globalised scenario. It also conducted regular remedial classes for the weak students and late bloomers. The department consistently motivated and encouraged the students to participate in the seminars, symposium etc., conducted by Anna University and other Engineering Colleges. The faculty members of the department frequently counsel the students to overcome their adulthood and psychological problems. Moreover the faculty members involved to control ragging and disciplinary activities to built a very good relationship among the students.

The Department of Physics was started in the year 1993 to incultate the knowledge of first year BE/BTech students.The department is gifted with a dedicated team of experienced faculty members and a well equipped laboratory. The department is proud of producing consistently very good results in the University examinations.The department has well equipped laboratories and good infrastructure for a better undertaking of the theory as well as laboratory taught to the students.

The Department of Chemistry was established in the year of 1994 and is a unique Department of Sriram Engineering College. It has distinguished, dedicated and qualified faculties (Five teaching and two non-teaching including lab instructor) in different areas of General, Applied and Analytical Chemistry. Faculty members are showing keen interest to motivate the students to participate in various aspects like workshop, seminar, conference and symposium and they are presenting papers in conferences / Seminars. Dr.A.Murugesan, Assistant Professor and Head got two Fellow Awards from Research Societies (Indian Council of Chemists [FICC] and International Congress of Chemistry and Environment [FICCE]) and also he published 5 original research papers in Journals and 26 research papers presented in National Conferences. Chemistry Department having safety measures and is situated in eco-friendly nature. Department of Chemistry has well equipped and advanced laboratory equipments for Applied and Analytical Chemistry Research Activities. The department is proud of producing consistently very good results in the Anna University examinations.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 1993 and a total of 247 studnets. We are having three spacious class rooms, one seminar hall, 3 faculty rooms, a separate department library and seven well equipped laboratories.
The strength of our department stems from its dedicated and committed faculties with an unparallel and genuine concern for students they provide great inspiration and motivation to the students. Our department has a team of well qualified and experienced faculty members with 3 assistant professors.

In order to develop the team spirit and co-curricular activities of the students we have started the “EEE Association” and it has been inaugurated every year. Guest lectures are organized frequently by eminent professors, scientists, Experts from various industries and educational institutions. In order to develop the innovative technical skills of the students in various fields like product development planned to conduct a technical symposium in the month of September 2009.
Many of our students has passes through our college with a smile for being placed in various companies.

The department is accredited by NBA and certified by ISO. All other faculty members are post graduate and five of them are working on research thesis for doctoral programmes

The Department of CHEMICAL ENGINEERING was started in the year 1995 to inculcate the knowledge in chemical engineering area to the students. The department is gifted with a dedicated team of experienced faculty members and a well equipped laboratory.

The department is proud of producing consistently very good results in the University examinations. Recently our students bagged two gold medals in 2008 Anna University examination. The department has guided a lot of students in pursuing higher studies in India and abroad in fields such as process engineering, biotechnology, environmental engineering, petroleum and refineries, nanotechnology etc. Most of our passed out students have got placed in various Chemical and allied industries and also even in software companies.

The department regularly organizes lectures by eminent personalities in the field of chemical engineering and hosts national level symposium and seminars, workshops etc. It also arranges for industrial visits, industrial training for students in reputed core industries located in and around TamilNadu.

Our department had enunciated a consultancy project with TamilNadu State Council for Science and Technology in the area namely ‘Decolonization of Industrial Effluents using Low cost Adsorbents’. Our students have secured first places in ISTE design awards at the National level for the design of parabolic solar still for Desalination of sea water – which acclaimed wide publicity in media and press.

The Department of Electronics & Communication engineering was established in the year 1993 with an intake of 60.The present intake of the department is 90.The Department was accredited in the year 2006 by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. The Department has well -qualified and highly-experienced faculties who impart not only the knowledge in the development of engineering and technology but also good character into the minds of young students to ensure to bring up them into not only talented professionals but also good citizens. The faculties of our department, especially our Head of the Department and his senior associates, constantly encourage the students to participate in and organize the co-and extra-curricular activities to enhance the creativity in them by providing opportunities to bring out their innovative ideas.

Automobile Engineering

The Department of Automobile Engineering was started during the academic year 1999-2000 with sanctioned intake of 60. At present the department is having required faculty members as per Anna university norms. Keeping in view of the demand for automobile engineers the department has a vision to enrich the knowledge of students and updated technology. We are providing an excellent exposure to well equipped laboratories &workshops. So The department is well equipped with modern equipments such as latest exhaust gas analyzer, a computerized wheel alignment tester etc.

We have got a free demo car from Hyundai motors. The department has also got the components light & heavy vehicles. The department library is fully equipped with books related to latest automotive technologies.

We have conducted a national conference on telematics from 28th- 30th oct-2009.which is a milestone in the history of sriram engineering college sponsored by CSIR, DRDO and BSNL. A national safety week was conducted in colobration with police department for a week to create awareness to public.

The staff & students are encouraged to become members of various professional bodies such as SAE, MIE etc.

The Department of MCA was started in the year 1994. The main objective is to produce high quality professionals to meet the demands of the emerging fields of computer applications. We got accreditation by NBA & AICTE, New Delhi in the year 2007. It provides high quality education to the students. In the last academic year we have acquired 100% result.

We had started an association named “Association of Computer Applications” which focuses on conduct several activates in the department and tuning the students. Many of our passed out students were placed in different MNC companies.

We have a vast and spacious library which comprises of many volumes of subject oriented books. Our laboratory is well equipped with net facility, through which our students are benefitted.

Apart from this, our students had undertaken projects like IBM, TCS, CTS and have own awards and prizes.
