Located in The Institute was founded in 1997 as a philanthropic initiative by one of the leading educational societies of the region, City Educational & Social Welfare Society (CESWS). The founder chairman, Late Shri Chandra Sen Agrawal was a leading educationist of his time and spent his entire life in the service of community in the field of education .In the age of IT revolution and globalization where industry is the corner stone of prosperity of a nation , he was able to foresee the need to equip the young men and women, with the technical knowledge for the new millennium, hence established the Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology(MIET), Our Mission at MIET is:, To educate human resources, competent and skilled in various technical fields, to fulfill global requirements by providing sustainable quality education, training & an envigorating environment to young aspirants and moulding them into socially responsible citizens who will lead the building of a powerful nation., MIET, located in the National Capital Region, is one of the oldest self-financed Engineering Institutions in Uttar Pradesh and also one of the best. Like a true leader, it has taken several initiatives in the field of technical education that are being followed by other Institutions across the state now. MIET was the first to introduce Information Technology and Bio-Technology as B.Tech. courses, demonstrating its farsightedness on the technological needs of the Nation. MIET has an intensive academic environment that brings out the best in the students. It lays claim to the finest faculty in the region, offers the best laboratory infrastructure, excellent hostels and mess facilities and promotes several extra-curricular activities. It also has the well stocked library in the state with over 56,023 volumes and subscribes to a number of journals of National and International importance., MIET Computer centre is the Epicenter of all computing facilities for students, faculty and staff members. MIET has over 735 Core2dual,DualCore & Pentium IV computers arranged in 15 separate labs for B.Tech, MBA, MCA & M.Tech. students. Internet facility is available to students through a dedicated leased line of 4 Mbps. The computer centre is integrated with the latest network technology available in the market, Windows 2003 (Advanced Server), Unix/Linux. All labs in the institute are on LAN. The servers in the centre are from HP, IBM and Intel based. New hardware and software are procured on a regular basis so as to provide a state of the art computing facility to MIET..
