Located in Malda College is a Govt. sponsored, NAAC accredited academic institution which started its journey on the 23rd July, 1944. At present, Malda College is one of the biggest educational institutions of the state catering to the dire educational needs of students hailing from the humble rural backgrounds in North Bengal., The College has recently celebrated its 75 glorious years of academic journey. To commemorate the Platinum Jubilee Celebration, a 20,000 sqft. Six storeyed Science Building in the college campus has been erected and inaugurated. The College acknowledges its sincere gratitude to Sri Rabindra Nath Ghosh, Hon'ble Minister, North Bengal Development Department to make this dream come true., Spread over 52 acres of green campus, the College currently offers courses in three streams, Science, Arts and Commerce both General & Honors in all 18 Departments at the UG level with accommodating more than six thousand students. The College also offers Post Graduate courses in three subjects – History, English since 2003 and Bengali since 2014. CBCS curricula have been introduced in both undergraduate (from 2019) and postgraduate levels (from 2018). Each teacher in the college has personal websites which are linked to the respective departmental websites which in turn consists part of Central Website of the college. 20 ICT enabled classrooms make learning both appealing and interesting. The College has self-developed learning management system which helps students a lot., The Central library of the College with a stock of around fifty thousand books is one of the best of its kind. The library has access to various national and international online journals through Inflibnet. The library uses "Koha" software which makes this easy for students to find the book of their choice within seconds. The Science departments have well equipped laboratories enriched by necessary modern gadgets and instruments., The college has a spacious playground which serves the purpose of holding tournaments, and various games and sports. A gymnasium with modern equipment has been set up keeping in mind issues of mental and physical health of the students. A number of gardens and orchards of different types within the campus adds to the scenic beauty of the place and offers an ideal academic atmosphere. The College has a large pond used for pisciculture and rain water harvesting., Another proud possession of the College is the twin auditoria-Durga Kinkar Sadan and Sanaullah Mancha. They were built to commemorate the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the College in 1994. Durga Kinkar Sadan with 1050 (one thousand & fifty) seats and Sanaullah Mancha with 300 (three hundred) seats together can be considered the biggest and the best auditorium in the northern part of the state. Both auditoria are equipped with advanced light and sound mechanism, guest suits, parking space etc., Besides, a dedicated team of experienced teachers (106) and support staff (69) are always there to help the students in every possible way. They always do their best to give the students the required edge to leave their mark in this global world. The College has developed its official "Malda College app" available in Google Playstore to provide the students with 24 x 7 digital assistance.
