NMAT Cutoff 2026: School-wise Benchmarks and Trends
There is no single NMAT cutoff set for every participating business school. Institutions decide their own programme-level requirements and may revise them for each intake. GMAC supplies the score; admissions offices decide how it is used.
What determines a cutoff?
- Programme and campus, available seats and the strength of the applicant pool.
- Overall score and any required Language Skills, Quantitative Skills or Logical Reasoning sectional scores.
- Whether an institution uses a score from one or multiple attempts.
- Academic background, work experience, interview or written-assessment performance, and other published selection criteria.
- Eligibility requirements and application timing for the specific 2027 intake.
Qualifying benchmarks and category-wise trends
Check the target schoolโs official admission notice for current-cycle benchmarks. Do not present an unofficial predicted score or an old cutoff as a confirmed 2026/2027 requirement. Where a school publishes category-wise or programme-wise criteria, match the exact programme, campus, intake and applicant category; not every institution uses the same categories or score thresholds.
How to use historical cutoffs
- Use previous-year figures only as context, not as a promise of shortlisting.
- Compare total and sectional benchmarks separately and confirm the accepted score year.
- Check whether the school considers the best score, latest attempt or another rule.
- Apply using the school's complete eligibility and selection process, not a cutoff estimate alone.
