The Joganada Deva Satradhikar Goswami College (J.D.S.G. College) the premier institute of higher learning at Bokakhat in the District of Golaghat, was established in the year 1964 with the Arts stream only. For more than a decade, it was the only institute of higher learning in the greater Bokakhat area which is mostly inhabited by SC, ST, TGL (Tea Garden Labour) and OBC/MOBC communities.
