Spread over 350 Acres lush green campus, the University comprises of a Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, a college of Nursing, a Regional Canter center, a Regional Institute of Ophthalmology and State Institute of Mental Health Sciences. 68 Colleges imparting education in different disciplines of Health Sciences are affiliated to the University. I would like to thank our peers, faculty colleagues, residents, staff and students for their hard work and valuable contribution in making us one of the best health sciences institutions in the region. We aspire to remain placed among top ten Universities of the Country. The University encourages its faculty members for purposeful teaching, scholarly and creative work, innovation as well as spread of light of new knowledge in medical sciences and technologies. We aim at offering a peaceful yet competitive atmosphere for intellectual and professional growth. With our responsibilities for the institutes and colleges affiliated with us we are in the process of developing ‘College Development Program (CDP)’. Through this, university envisages improvement of college education, regulation and quality control of teaching and learning standards, introduction of new courses in emerging areas of health sciences, development of environment conducive for extended social and scientific interaction, organization of intercollegiate sports, cultural and youth festivals, curriculum review process, initiation of fundamental and applied research and maintenance of standard disciplinary procedures.
