Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) is state funded public university located at the world-renowned hill-station Shimla. Himachal Pradesh University was established on 22 July 1970 by an Act of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.The university campus is spread over 200 acres of land.
